Rory Gevis is an NYC-based artist, creating bespoke oil portraits that celebrate the beauty of both people and pets.

Custom oil and digital portraits of cherished pets and people— capturing character, charm, and that ineffable something that makes them yours. Each piece is tailored with refined details—perhaps a favorite collar, a beloved chair, or a well loved toy —designed to become a treasured heirloom.

Each of Rory’s custom commissions is a thoughtful collaboration. You will work directly with Rory on the details that you would like included in your pet’s custom portrait, sharing images and noting details that will ensure a bespoke work of art that feels deeply personal, emotional, and quietly luxurious.

Rooted in intimacy, elegance, and narrative nuance, Rory’s work is deeply inspired by her relationship with soul dog, Elsa. Our collaboration on this portrait project was born of a shared gratitude for four-legged family members, and it is our hope that this series celebrates and reflects the mutual love we feel for our pets, who, like Rory’s art, fill our lives with color, character, and enduring joy.

Rory’s oil portraits are available in a variety of sizes, and with a level of detail to meet your specifications and vision. Rory creates all works in her Chelsea NYC studio, with pricing dependent upon size, level of detail, and number of subjects. Rory’s commissioned works are created with a goal of creating a treasured keepsake capturing the love and life that we shared with our beloved family members.

Custom oil portraits start at $1800 ; the final cost will be proposed and confirmed as you work with Rory on the details to be included. The $1800, if your final portrait goes above this amount, will be applied to your final total.
